Peboona is a gorgeous light fawn female out of StudMaster Male El Toro and Ambiance. She appears to be the perfect mix of her dam and sire, with consistent fine crimpy fleece from head to toe. Her features are striking, confirmation strong, and it is easy to see her fleeces bundling quality, fineness, and outstanding crimp. She has been bred to StudMaster male K2 for a fall 2009 cria.

We look to K2 to accentuate on her consistent fleece structure and solid confirmation.

Keeping up with our traditions here, all alpacas born to our farm receive names based upon the Abenaqui language, Peboona is no exception. Peboona (pronounced peb-oo-oo-na) is an Abenaqui word meaning the 'winter that is gone'. She was incidentally born in the early spring. We call her Pep which is true to her character.

Awards

Year: 2008
Show Name: New England Coastal Classic
Show Type: Fleece
Class: Female - 2 and older - light
Place: 6
Comments: Peboona's fleece scored a 14 out of 20 for fineness and handle, 5.5 out of 7 for staple length. Scores decreased due to my lack of proper Skirting. I knew going in to this one that there was a lot of sand within the fiber, which showed in the judges score for brightness and impurities/damage to the fiber. I am still pleased with her placement as the scores give us valuable information as to how her fiber rates compared to other comparable alpacas. I will continue to display her fleece in fleece competition, next time I will be more considerate of the skirting.
